Flowline (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Flowline website and subscription service (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Email address and password (stored as a one-way bcrypt hash).
Profile information. Optional ZIP code used to sort rivers by distance and your saved rivers.
Quiz responses. Answers you provide in our onboarding quiz so we can recommend relevant rivers.
Payment information. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We retain a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Usage and device data. Standard log data (IP, user agent, pages viewed) and analytics events from the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and similar tools.

2. How we use information

To provide and improve the Service (river data, recommendations, alerts).
To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and product updates.
To measure marketing performance and improve our advertising on platforms like Meta.
To prevent fraud and abuse and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run Flowline, including Stripe (payments), our hosting provider, email delivery providers, and analytics/advertising partners (such as Meta). We never sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure marketing performance. Our marketing pixels (such as the Meta Pixel) may set cookies on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not work correctly.

5. Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see contact below).

6. Security

Passwords are stored hashed with bcrypt. Payments are handled by PCI-compliant Stripe. We use HTTPS in transit. No system is 100% secure, so we encourage using a strong, unique password.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. CCPA, GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

Flowline is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
